Protean's ASC is the fastest swipe counter available. At 3 seconds or less per sample change, it can count a 50 sample stack of samples as fast or faster than a modern ultra-low background system. For many typical D&D requirements with release limits in the 20 DPM alpha/200 to 1000 DPM beta, the ASC is the most cost effective production system manufactured today. The ASC is about two thirds or less the cost of an ultra-low background automatic system. Depending on the system configuration, two ASC's can be substituted for one WPC-9550 for close to the same budget. The combination of high throughput, low cost, small size, detector options, and light weight make the ASC the most versatile counting system available.
In console mode the ASC has full support for an inexpensive graphical printer. This combination is ideal for rapid response situations or commercial users faced with a large batch of quick turnaround samples. The ASC and a printer can be un-crated, counting, and printing hard copy results in less than an hour if necessary.
The ASC can also be connected to a PC, for either simple download of data, or for full control from the PC. The ASC includes PIC Applications which allow fast and easy downloading of data to a PC. Vista FC is available as an option, and provides full control of the ASC from a PC. Contact the factory for the lates information on which detector options are supported by Vista FC.
